The Pacific Art League organizes monthly thematic exhibitions to promote artistic excellence and showcase some of the exceptional work by PAL members and artists throughout the region. Our gallery is located in the vibrant heart of Palo Alto, surrounded by restaurants, shops and tech startups. In addition, PAL encourages art sales and provides cash awards for juried exhibitions.

Except for the biannual Members' Exhibitions, the monthly exhibitions are juried by noted curators, artists, art historians and art critics.  To view upcoming juried exhibitions see the Exhibition Calendar.

Show Description: The Student Show is meant for students who took a course with one of our PAL instructors during the months of January-March 2017. We ask for work created in class. The exhibition will be shown in the Corridor Gallery at Pacific Art League. Each student is limited to one entry, this allows many students to show their work and exhibit what they have been working on for the semester. All work must be for sale, as it is Pacific Art Leagues policy! 45 pieces will be accepted, If space limitations are exceeded acceptance is based on two students per class. If there is more than two students from a single class, names will be drawn out of a hat.

Show Description: This June Pacific Art League will be exhibiting works celebrating the excitements of summer. PAL hopes to bring a sense of adventure to the exhibition. The sights of summer extend to gardens, mountain tops, sunshine, beach days, and the joys of spending time in the warm weather. Pacific Art League invites submissions that demonstrate development and mature stylistic approaches to their work. 

Awards judge: Rachel Lazo is an artist and art educator living and working in San Jose.  Rachel is an alumnus of the Rhode Island School of Design, the San Francisco Art Institute and San Jose State University, the latter from which she received her MFA in Pictorial Arts. She currently is full-time faculty in art at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, where she coordinates and curates the college art gallery in tandem with teaching and advising students.

Show Description: Distinct among artistic media, printmaking presents the artist, viewer and broader society with a most medium specific poetics. This July, the Pacific Art League will mount an exhibition of contemporary prints by artists working in relief, intaglio, planographic, and stencil processes.
