Working artist and instructor Dawn Irvine is a long-time art teacher, living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a BFA with Distinction from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. Dawn has taught all grades of art and is  now teaching at a local charter high school. She currently shows her work at galleries all over the Bay Area.

Through the years Dawn has always been primarily a painter, and has recently re-discovered encaustic painting: using hot, pigmented wax and a torch, she adds found objects, brands, books, fabric, transfers and  graphite, Dawn also loves the freedom and versatility of digital technology for art making. She uses her iPad and a variety of applications and processes to create her digital photo manipulations. Dawn also experiments with many forms of new technology, and adds Augmented Reality to enhance the stories of her artworks.
