MARKETING MANAGER, The Pacific Art League – Full or Part Time
The Pacific Art League was established in 1921 and as a non-profit and we serve the Palo Alto and mid-peninsula region with high caliber art classes across many mediums. We also host monthly art openings and shows here in our downtown galleries, taking advantage of our unique high-profile location in the historic building we have owned since 1965.
We have ambitious plans for the growth of the organization, through the expansion of classes we host here at 668 Ramona and at various satellite locations in the region. We also want to dramatically increase the public attendance to our galleries and consequently the purchase of art.
Additionally, a major new strategic objective is to increasingly harness the tremendous potential PAL has for expanding our base of donors and developing high profile sponsor programs for new corporate partners.
To assist in this multi-faceted growth plan, we are looking for a high energy marketing professional to join our small dedicated staff. This will be an exciting opportunity to influence and manage all aspects of how we present ourselves to the market and communicate to our students, teachers, and corporate supporters. This is a very hands-on role, encompassing our web and social media presence, all printed collateral and brand positioning. This role is strategically key in helping us raise the revenue stream and profile of a respected arts organization, poised for the next stage of growth.
Roles and responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Managing our year-round marketing plan in support of all our activity at PAL
Coordinating and managing all our third-party suppliers
Developing and managing a comprehensive social media program
Owning the ongoing evolution of our webs site and maintaining all updates
Managing email and newsletter communications to our community
Owning all positioning, copy creation and proofing
Developing feedback loops with our audience to assist in planning our curriculum
Providing all sales collateral for development efforts and corporate outreach
Ownership of the look and feel of our brand online, in print and in the galleries
Managing placement of all local advertising and community site notices
Developing a strategy for the expansion and regular maintenance of our databases
Providing marketing support for our faculty to promote their status as art teachers
We are looking for somebody who will relish the opportunity to own every aspect of the marketing function, both in terms of brand building and all our direct response efforts. The successful candidate will demonstrate a capacity to think strategically and support the vision for significant growth over the coming years, but also able to deliver at a very granular tactical level. The right candidate will also display a capacity to work well in a small office environment, under the typical constraints that non-profits deal with on a day to day basis. It would be a distinct advantage to have an arts marketing background, but not essential. The compensation and status of a full time or part time role will vary based on experience.
Applicants should provide a covering letter with resume, outlining why you can make a significant change to PAL.
