BOARD PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NEWSLETTER | OCT 2015
Dear PAL Patrons and Supporters,
As we’re eagerly looking forward to PAL’s 94th Anniversary, I’m very happy to report to you about some very exciting development during the past month. Many of them are about the future of PAL, and we couldn’t be happier with what we’re seeing so far.
Our new Executive Director Shannon McDonnell has fully taken charge of PAL’s daily operations. To say that her plate is full is an understatement as she assumed the many responsibilities immediately after her appointment, one of which I’d like to mention is her initiation of multiple community engagement programs in the surrounding communities. We’re very grateful to have Shannon at this crucial time of our organization.
As many of you might know, PAL’s board of directors held a Special Member meeting on Friday, August 7 per the request of some of our members. Our members voted enthusiastically along with the Board’s recommendation, which gives the current Board a clear mandate for their direction in the coming years. We want to thank all of you who came voted on the important issues on the ballot.
Our anniversary committee has put in a lot of work in making our upcoming anniversary celebration the best one yet. Please join us this Friday, September 4 at 5:30 pm for a very special First Friday Opening Reception. We also would like to let you know that you can still support PAL by donating directly even if you didn’t submit your art work for the 94th Anniversary Exhibition.
Last but not least, a brand new PAL Web site was launched yesterday on September 1. We’ve added many features and social media presence that will make our online visitors’ experience a pleasant one. Visit us now at www.pacificartleague.org. If you are having any trouble viewing the site, please make sure to clear your browser history. Enjoy the new site!
Thank you and I hope to see you this Friday!
Board President, Pacific Art League
