Landscape Drawing with Colored Pencils

This workshop covers the characteristics, color range of the main kinds of color pencils, hard, soft, water soluble and pastels. Drawing from landscape photos, students receive step by step guidance with visual demonstrations of each key technique - blending, burnishing, shading, transferring images as well as the basics of composition and perspective. This workshop is held at The Foster located at 940 Commercial St., Palo Alto.

The class is structured for both beginner to advanced students who want to
develop their skill understanding of painting. As a painting instructor, my mission is to provide students with the foundation necessary to be creative. My goal is to assist students in capturing the particular mood of the moment and to express themselves in a bold and colorful way, while capturing the beauty and spontaneity of life.

This workshop is very hands-on with an emphasis on easel¬ side

We live in a time when photography is so ubiquitous; smart phones and accessible digital cameras have given rise to an explosion of images. However, has this access to technology stimulated the creative eye? This June, the Pacific Art League celebrates creativity through the lens of Photography. We invite you to submit examples of your “creative eye”, using the camera as your medium. From medium format, DSLR, film, or iPhone, show us your vision of the world.
