You are invited to come and enjoy a wonderful showcase of Expressive Art by the Bill Wilson Center’s youth artists at Forager on Friday, March 15th (4-7pm) at Forager (Second Floor, 420 S. 1st Street, San Jose, CA )
Pacific Art League provides BWC with expressive Art classes for at risk youth. These classes provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment for youth of BWC to express themselves through making art. This type of art is more about the process of being creative than the product that results. Each class incorporates a journal prompt, mindfulness exercise, movement to music and creating with various art mediums such as paint, clay, mix media, watercolors, pastels and more. The goal is to encourage youth to open themselves to free expression through art. These classes show benefits in reducing stress, expressing emotions, and providing a connection to others who share similar experiences. No art experience is ever required.
Pacific Art League and Santa Clara County provide the funding and art therapy, expressive art and art teachers for this program. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided. Forager is a creative event space that combines culinary and art. The showcase will held in the upstairs gallery. Unfortunately there is not elevator attendees must be able to walk up stairs.
