JURORS
Yu Chun-Hui has exhibited her paintings extensively in China, Taiwan, Japan and the United States including the Liaoning Provincial Museum (2018), Shanghai Art Museum (2003), Qinzhe Art Center (Hangzhou 2019), Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (2019) and the Silicon Valley Asian Art Center. She has studied under the mentorship of many masters including Huang Chun-Pi, Wong Lui-Sheng, Chiang Chao-Shen, Hau Pei-Jen (who taught at the Pacific Art League for 50 years) and other eminent artists.
Yu has taught Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy at San Jose City College for 10 years and at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto for 25 years. She also taught a workshop at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco (2017). She is a mentor to many aspiring artists.
Her personal inspirations are nature, poetry and Zen and her art exemplifies an integration of painting, calligraphy and philosophy. Her ink paintings include many abstract landscapes in a contemporary reinterpretation of the Classical Chinese art forms. View her work here.
Ric Ambrose is represented in numerous public and private collections. His large-scale drawings were featured in solo and group exhibitions across America.
He has an MFA in drawing and a BFA in studio art and art history. Ambrose has over 30 years of leadership experience in the arts managing art collections of historical and contemporary art. He taught studio art at Colorado State University and West Virginia State University.
He has curated over 300 exhibitions in art, science and history at five organizations including Sangre de Cristo Arts Center (Pueblo CO), Fresno Metropolitan Museum, Laurence Hall of Science (UC Berkeley) and the Clay Center for the Arts and Science (Charleston, WV). Mr. Ambrose recently had two pieces accepted into the de Young Open. He was the Executive Director of the Pacific Art League for several years. View his work here.

Ken Brenner is a self-taught artist who began experimenting with acrylic and watercolor in the early 70's before starting a family and banking career became the priority. It wasn't until 2008 when Ken rediscovered his passion for art and was introduced to the medium of oil. In the past 12 years Ken has developed an expertise in abstract oil painting and has continued to experiment with color and composition. Throughout the entirety of his artistic career Ken has been exhibited in Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and New York City.
