We invite artists to participate in PAL's Memory Lane Exhibit (September 6 - 24, 2024), an exhibition exploring the connection between memory and art. Submit artwork that captures the essence of a significant memory, accompanied by a short story explaining its importance to you. Both the artwork and the story will be displayed together, enriching visitors' understanding of your piece.

Ribbons awards will be announced at the reception. This event is free and open to the public.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists (members & non-members) and artistic works.

ENTRY FEE
$20 for Members
$30 for Non-Members.
$10 Every additional submission (regardless of Membership status)

SELECTION NOTIFICATION DATE
Friday, August 9th, 2024 (by email)

ART INTAKE
Accepted works must be hand-delivered to PAL on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 (12pm - 4pm only)

ART PICK UP
Exhibited works must be picked up at PAL at the end of the exhibit on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 (12am - 4pm only)

AWARDS
Ribbons will be awarded to works selected by the juror

SALES COMMISSION
Members 60/40 (in favor of the artist)
Non-Members 50/50 (in favor of the artist)

GUIDELINES
Measurements are based on the piece’s longest side, including the frame.

  • Size of work is limited to 36” wide by 36” tall, including the frame. Please note, that anything submitted over 36” will not be accepted into the show.

  • All 2D work must be ready to hang on a wire.

  • All 2D work must be framed or on gallery-wrapped canvas with finished edges.

  • All work must be labeled on the front with the title and artist’s name (post-it or paper taped to frame work well).

  • All works must be dry to the touch.

JUROR

Sydney Tang

Sydney Tang is the curator at the City of Pleasanton’s Firehouse Arts Center. Managing the facility’s three exhibition spaces, Tang organizes both group and solo shows of Bay Area artists in the Firehouse’s main gallery, foyer, and second floor. Prior to this, she worked in the contemporary art industry in Tokyo, Japan, and received her Master of Arts degree from New York University in Art and Public Policy.
