Revolutions in Art: Surrealist Revolt

Revolutions in Art have occurred when a generation of artists arises yearning to give creative expression to new orientations that are more relevant for their times. This next lecture in the Series will explore artistic response to the Absurdity and Destruction involved with the Great War showing in sharp focus the incongruities of Modern life. Unfettered play of imagination that incorporates dreams and the Unconscious will be highlighted in the works of artists like Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Marcel Duchamp, marc Chagall and Giorgio Chirico.
