Vibrant Tissue Paper Flowers Workshop In this vibrant Mexican Paper Flowers workshop, participants will learn to transform simple materials into dazzling blossoms using colorful tissue paper and pipecleaners. This fun activity is for all ages and skill levels, teaching layering, folding, and fluffing techniques to create festive blooms. Originating in ancient China, the art of paper flowers then traveled along the Silk Road and reached Mexico during the colonial period. There, tissue paper—papel de China—bloomed into “flores de papel” and is central to Mexican celebrations, from weddings to Día de los Muertos, where handmade flowers symbolize joy, remembrance, and cultural pride.
