Outdoor Workshop: Sketching Architecture the Easy Way with Robert Dvorak

This one day workshop will prepare you for years of sketching on site all types of architectural subjects. You will learn drawing shortcuts and tricks to enhance any architectural drawing.

You will learn how to:

  • draw straight lines freehand.

  • draw simple one, two and three point perspectives and when to use them.

  • create the illusion of depth on a flat sheet of paper in seven ways.

  • “snap” a line.

  • “hatch” any architectural subject.

  • add people quickly for scale

  • draw quickly and easily any architectural subject.

  • compose your subject on a sheet of paper.

  • add shades and shadows quickly and easily.

This workshop will present demonstrations and provide hands-on experience in quick sketching techniques of architectural subjects.

Materials Fee:

$12 for pencil, eraser, pen and paper

One Day: 10 AM to 4 PM. Bring your lunch and wear comfortable clothes. If you can, bring a small stool or folding chair that is easy to carry. Meet on the Stanford campus at the Rodin Sculpture Garden.
