Postcard Exhibition FAQ

When is the submission deadline?
The submission deadline is Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

Why won’t the system accept my piece?
This usually happens if your files are too large. Please try reducing the size of your images and resubmitting. It can also occur if you haven’t filled in specific fields.

When will I be notified?
Notification emails will be sent by the end of the day on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Why can’t I log into my PAL account to submit?
You don’t need to log into your PAL account to apply.

I really NOT have to wire my piece for this exhibit?
That is correct. Because these pieces will be so small, we’ll be installing them differently than we normally do. So you are NOT required to have any hanging mechanism attached to it.

My painting is 4×6, but my frame is larger. It that ok?
No. Anything larger than 4×6 will automatically be rejected, that includes any framing.

Does my piece need to be for sale?
Yes. Unlike all of our other exhibitions, the work must be for sale for the Postcard Exhibit.

Why is there a minimum and maximum price set?
We don’t usually control the pricing for exhibitions, but for this one we want all the pricing to have a constancy.

What if my piece sells after I’ve submitted it? Can it still be in the show?
No. All the work must be for sale while it is on display at PAL.

Is my submission fee tax-deductible?
No, submission fees are not tax-deductible.

If I sell a piece, is PAL’s portion of the sale tax-deductible?
No. PAL’s standard commission is not tax-deductible. However, if you choose to donate a higher percentage of your portion of the sale, the additional amount is considered a tax-deductible donation.

I’ve tried everything and still can’t submit. What should I do?
Don’t worry—just email Donny your submission details at donny@pacificartleague.org with the following information:

  • Title

  • Medium

  • Size

  • Price

Please note: If any details are missing, Donny won’t be able to submit on your behalf. Also, submissions sent after the deadline cannot be accepted.
